Forest Family Church

Forest Church is 'church outdoors' aimed at children but is for the whole family. An outdoor fresh environment with bible stories, games, prayer, crafts and quizzes all whilst getting to know each other and building a relationship with Jesus forever.

The church leaders and members of the parochial church council are drawing up plans
for a new Vision meeting to include any parishioners who wish to attend, whether or
not they come to services or are involved in church activities.

We are part of the Church of England and so everyone who lives in the parish is, in effect, a member of our church. You can be baptised, married and hold funeral services for your loved ones at St Mary's Church, with the agreement of the Vicar.

If you attend church regularly you will want to have your say in how the church evolves into the second quarter of the 21st century. If you take part in church activities, you may have ideas about how they can expand and adapt. Have your children enjoyed Forest Church? Is Totzone fun? Do you enjoy Strollers and Striders? Are there enough fellowship opportunities to get to know people in the church and wider community?

What about links to outside organisations. We allocate funds every year to charities and when emergencies arise in different parts of the world. We funded laptops for Leigh school children earlier this year and contribute to charities such as The Bridge Trust for homeless people and The Kenwood Trust  for addictions.

Are we doing enough for elderly people in our village? We have a beautiful new brick path suitable for wheelchairs within the churchyard, but what about getting to the gate.
What help do you and your family need?

Do you read the parish magazine, produced, printed and distributed  by the church for the community?

Do you  appreciate having a well-maintained historic church open to all with a well kept
churchyard for walkers and quiet spots to find peace and tranquility?

We are keen to encourage more parishioners to become involved with an organisation, which can offer something to everyone whether or not they have been brought up as churchgoers or learnt about the teachings of Jesus later in life.

Our services follow the traditional cycle of the year where we celebrate and give thanks
providing rhythm and structure to the year and encouraging us to think more deeply
about our lives, and  our purpose and to pray for others. The Christian faith offers a message of hope - so we hope you will help create a Vision of Hope for 2022 and beyond.
